It is truly lovely.
That's a good one!One of my favorites is "I'll Be Around," a great tune from Alec Wilder. It speaks to the enduring qualities of true love.Of course there are times when "What Kind of Fool Am I?" or "Angel Eyes" or "One For My Baby" seems to fit better, but we won't go there.... :-)
My all time favorite is from the 40's, "I'll Be Seeing You." It's been recorded by a number of people over the years...my favorite being Julie London. And, as someone pointed out, the ending phrase, gotta bring a tear to the eye"...and when the night is new,I'll be looking at the moon,But I'll be seeing you." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ax-maauoIVA&feature=related
Ohhhh J- that is one of my favorites too. Kit this is a lovely song as well... I have too many to list but I think my fav is All My Life by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt. I am just now catching up on journals... I am sorry things have been so tumultuous for you and Thing2... I hope all is better now. You will both be in my thoughts and prayers.
Mr. S - I feel like I should know those songs, but I'll have to look around and remind myself.JJ - You are right, that is a great song... and now I have it echoing in my head.O - Things are only marginally better. Thanks for your prayers. I am sure I know All My Life, but it isn't popping into my head, so I'll have to look it up too. Thanks for stopping by.
Kit -- For the Wilder tune, go here, scroll down to #73, and you can listen to Billie Holliday sing it.Of course I suggest you listen to some (many!) of the other tunes, too. Wilder was a genius.
Thanks for that link Mr. S. It's a fantastic site and several other songs were irresistible... I just had to listen to them too.
